So what are we going to do?
We're going to do it ourselves and make a very delicious Chocolate Mask!
As you guys might know: Dark chocolate is so good for your skin! It stimulates our beta-endorphin and that's the stuff that gets us awake and happy. Here's a list of things we're going to need to make this mask:
Ingredients:
- Pure chocolate or pure chocolate paste (15 gr)
- pot of white natural yoghurt (not sugared)
- 1/2 tblsp of honey
- a little handful of chocolate cornflakes
- 1/2 orange
- a few leaves of mint
And here are our materials: a spoon, a fork and a bowl.
If you want to know what everything is good for, I suggest you to keep on reading. I'll tell you just after we've prepared our mask!
Let's get started!
First of all we're going to take our 1/2 tblsp of honey and stir it together with the yoghurt.

Yes, I'm a casual chic :)
Further on, we now take half of an orange. I've taken an orange that wasn't that good anymore to eat it (you know, that old taste it has). But no need to eat it here, so we can use it instead of throwing it away.
I'm using the blender you can see in the picture, but if you don't have a blender just squeeze out the juice of the orange en grate (I think that's the word) the flesh and the peel into your bowl.
But if you have a blender, just blend the half orange and put it in your bowl.
Now all we have to do is add the chocolate. The only thing you have to keep in mind is that the chocolate must be close to melting. This makes it easier to squash it. Oh yeah, remember it has to be DARK chocolate. So, no milk chocolate or white chocolate. Dark chocolate works better and quicker. So squash the chocolate into your mixture.
I've chosen for a very easy way to add the chocolate: dark chocolate paste. This is only because my dad likes it, so we've always got some at home. But don't run to the store and look for it, just take bar of chocolate. It's easier to find.
So now we have a finished product after we've added the chocolate.
The finished product! |
Now, after that hour: Smear it all over your face, but not a big layer. Just smear it open, so that it can easily soak into your skin. Now get a comfortable position and relax (for 10 minutes)
Here's my victim xD |
Take 2 big bowls and fill them with warm water. Now take a washcloth (or something likely) and put it in bowl number 1. Now clean your face with it and rinse the washcloth in bowl number 2. Keep on doing this until your face is completely clean. My victim said she already felt better and her skin was already quite softer.
Do this once a week for a few weeks and you'll have an amazing result. You can keep the mask for about a week in your refrigerator (because of the orange), so don't make too much at a time.
Now, what is so good about this mask?
I've already explained you what the pure chocolate is good for. It has the same effect on our skin like if we would eat it (makes us feel so happy). Chocolate is used more in beauty now, you can find several chocolate masks, chocolate scrubs, chocolate butter (as a body lotion), and so on.
Mint is such an old product, it's been used for over 2,000 years for skin care. Mint is used to rejuvenate your skin and it cures acne and clogged pores.
I've used orange for the good smell and yoghurt as a binding product (to make it more of a cream instead of a juicy product)
And last but not least...
I would like to say that I've completely made this recipe by myself after a good research of every product and after trying everything out myself. So I would never recommend a product that's bad for you or your skin. It's not a copy of any other recipe, but you can copy it or make it better as much as you want (as long as you give me some credit ;))
I hope you all enjoyed this DIY. Certainly leave your comments or suggestions for new tutorials, I'll make sure I look through and answer them all.
Big Smooch!
